Groundwater and baseflow drought responses to synthetic recharge stress tests

چکیده
Abstract. Groundwater is the main source of freshwater and maintains streamflow during drought. Potential future groundwater baseflow drought hazards depend on systems' sensitivity to altered recharge conditions. We performed model experiments using three different generic stress tests estimate changes in recharge. The stem from a stakeholder co-design process that specifically followed idea altering known events past, i.e. asking whether could have made particular event worse. Across Germany, responses are highly heterogeneous, with heads north more sensitive long-term Central German Uplands short-term variations. Baseflow droughts generally intra-annual dynamics, smaller compared heads. recovery time mainly driven by hydrogeological conditions, slow (fast) porous (fractured rock) aquifers. In general, seasonal shift (i.e. less summer winter recharge) will lesser effects severity. A lengthening dry spells might cause much stronger responses, especially regions response precipitation. Water management may need consider spatially sensitivities system potential for severe large aquifers following prolonged meteorological droughts, particularly context climate change projections indicating seasonality events.

Physio-biochemical and Enzymatic Responses of Sunflower to Drought Stress
Drought stress is a serious adverse factor that limits sunflower growth and productivity. The stress induces a range of physiological and biochemical responses in sunflower. So, evaluation of defense systems is important for producing resistant cultivars. In this study, physio-biochemical changes and antioxidant enzymes activitiesof six sunflower lines were evaluated under normal and irrigation...
متن کاملPlant Responses to Drought and Stress Tolerance
In the natural environment plants are well adapted to minimize damages which only occurs under extreme conditions. In the frame of “physiological window” mild drought induces in plants regulation of water loss and uptake allowing maintenance of their leaf relative water content within the limits where the photosynthetic capacity shows no or little changes. But severe drought induces in plants u...

Drought stress is a serious adverse factor limiting growth and productivity of sunflower. Evaluation of defense systems is important for producing resistant cultivars. In this study, some agro-morphological and molecular characteristics of six sunflower lines were evaluated under normal and irrigation at 40 and 60% of field capacity in randomized complete block design (RCBD). The results showed...

This research was carried out in a factorial split plot experiment based on a randomized complete block design with four replications in Semnan Agriculture Research Center, Bastam, central Iran, in 2019. Experimental treatments included irrigation as the main factor at three levels of 100, 75 and 50% of water requirement and sub-factors including cultivar at three levels (Titicaca, Q26 and Q29)...
متن کاملMorpho-physiological responses in Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum seedlings to drought stress
In this study, the effect of drought stress on morphological and physiological characteristics of two forest species: Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum, which are used in natural forest restoration and afforestation, was evaluated. A factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design with two factors (two species and four levels of drought stress: (25% (severe stress),...
